It rained on my way to the university. This is a fairly significant event because it hadn’t yet rained properly in the whole month I’ve been here.

Through the British summer it rains two or three times a week. I must have subconsciously missed it because as the cold water trickled down the back of my neck I was overcome with happiness and familiarity.

According to the Kazakh Hydrometeorological Service (Kazhydromet) the temperature outside is 15°C with a cold wind and a light drizzle. It feels exactly like a chilly morning in Oxford and I love it.
