There’s a new interview with Xavier Lafrance, one of the editors of Case Studies in the Origins of Capitalism. The original interview is here in french, and translated here in english.

…no amount of commercial expansion or accumulation of monetary wealth could ever by themselves explain the transition to capitalism. Capital is not a thing but a “social relation” and the emergence of capitalism required a radical transformation of class relations – a qualitative reconfiguration of social power, not a mere quantitative accumulation of wealth.

The latest edition of Tribune also contains a short overview of State Monopoly Capitalism by Grace Blakeley. The pdf is here.
