I recently discovered the ‘Thursday doors’ thing, where people post photos of doors online. There’s someone in Leicester with hundreds of photos of doors on their blog. I’ve been following it for a while and I get a small kick out of spotting doors I recognise. The general idea seems to have been started by this person, and continued by Dan Antion; I don’t know if there are any rules or directions beyond ‘take photos of interesting doors’.

So, today is a Thursday and I would like to contribute to this weird online commuity of door enthusiasts.
Here is a house at the top of Mere Road in Leicester, near the Madrasah Rahimiyah.

Check out the stained glass patterns in the window, the charming little lantern, the floral carving on the lintel. It caught my attention as I was walking by. The name Park View likely refers to the fact that this house faces onto Spinney Hill park, and there is definitely a nice view from there.
